CIPP:
Engineered Lining Systems, Inc. eliminates every burden that’s associated with a conventional "rip and replace" trenching for the replacement of sanitary, storm and drainage systems. CIPP technology is proven and used in thousands of applications. We have included some of the frequently asked questions about our CIPP lining systems.
- What does CIPP mean? - Great! Glad you asked. CIPP is an acronym for Cured In Place Pipe.
- Does pipe restoration save a building owner and tenant’s money? - Yes! Since pipe restoration restores a building’s piping system within the walls or under flooring, owner’s save thousands of dollars by not paying to replace their existing piping system. The costs saved by not destroying walls and floors, removing and replacing pipes, and redecorating make pipe restoration the less expensive alternative.
- Is your CIPP lining system method safe? - Yes! The ELS method eliminates a majority of excavation risk associated with digging trenches.
- Does the pipe restoration outlast a new pipe? - Yes! New pipes start to deteriorate the moment the water is turned on. CIPP lines pipes are protected against corrosion.
- What type of pipe can the ELS system restore? - The ELS system is designed to restore copper, steel, galvanized and metallic pipes. The rust and corrosion buildup within the pipe is removed to restore full flow. Pipes are then lined to protect against future corrosion.
- Can an ELS system restoration be planned around the tenant’s schedule? - Yes! The ELS system restoration is planned as far ahead as possible. The process should not compromise a tenant’s standard of living.
- If pipes are old and fragile, can the ELS CIPP system fix my pipes? - In most cases Yes! However in all cases a site visit must be arranged with an ELS specialist who will assess the problem and make a recommendation.
- Who has used CIPP lining for pipe restoration? - Some of the largest companies in the nation have taken advantage of this proven technology for many years. Some customers include the US Department of Defense, municipalities, schools, home owners, condominium owners, hotels, government agencies, property managers, building owners, and hospitals.
- If a hole or crack in the pipe is found, can you fix it? - Yes! Sometimes a breech is found in the piping system. The CIPP liner is self supporting and able to span many voids within the pipe. A full CCTV inspection prior to lining will show any deficiencies.
- Will carpet and flooring be protected when crews are in a room? - Yes! Depending on the location of the line to be rehabilitated, our crews will place ground covers down before work is begun. Also keep in mind that without the demolition of a conventional pipe replacement, the amount of dust and dirt utilizing our system is minimal.
- Is the ELS system the most environmentally friendly alternative? - Yes! The ELS system significantly reduces waste and strain on landfills compared to a conventional re-pipe method. Building materials waste from demolition operations is limited.
